Going to the beach

Woke up, had breakfast and a few questions about when we wanted to go horseback riding. We are now seriously considering leaving this casa for another horse-free place in town. Our driver arrived and we left for the beach. The weather not looking perfect but it can change.

Drove for about 1½ hours before we arrived at the first control post in the middle of nowhere. Not exceeding 40 km/h anytime. Turned out the beach had been used for some people fleeing Cuba some years back so the authorities were quite eager to make sure that those who went to Cayo Jutias also came back again – the same day. So there was another control post.

Arrived at the beach and enjoyed the morning and afternoon there only little logistical problem was getting some food. Only lobster for lunch – and rice. Nothing else.

Had a swim in the ocean and the clouds disappeared. It was fantastic. Found our driver and headed home in the afternoon enjoying the countryside and the beautiful sunset.

Had dinner at a local place where they served pork – one chunk of pork per serving. Really good. Found a nice bar close to the restaurant and had drinks.
