Perito Moreno Glacier

Picked up early in the morning for day trip to Perito Moreno Glacier. Big bus with guide and a large group of other tourists. Did a few stops on the way - some 90 kilometers in total. Got on a boat and sailed on the lake behind the glacier - up to the very edge of the ice. Just as we got there a huge chunck of ice fell of and the sound was indescribable. Like thunder or a cannon being fired. Spent an hour on the water looking at the ice and hearing the sounds of the glacier as tensions built up inside it - and when they eventually were released as ice blocks falling of the face of the glacier.

Went back on the bus for a short drive to the visitor centre and the park where we could walk the tracks and watch the glacier. Spent most of the afternoon there before going back to El Calafate - tired.
Had wine and dinner at the local place right next to the hostel. Turned out to be a super place where we could sit and enjoy the evening sunshine before dinner.
