Visitor from out of town

Decided to leave the casa this morning. Had yet another horsebackriding sales pitch at the breakfast and that was it. Not the best place to stay anyway so we packed our stuff, paid the bill and walked to the main street where we found a nice casa where we could get a porch with a view – to the main street. In that way we could also look out for Frederik who was now in Havana and would arrive tomorrow.

The day was dedicated to walk a bit more in the local area so we headed out one of the roads towards the national park visitors centre where we could look a bit more at the National park. It was a nice 1 hour walk in the afternoon and beautiful view from the top of the visitor centre.

Decided to try our luck and walk down the hill on one of the paths and through the fields below. It turned out to be a beautiful trip in the afternoon sun. Hot and nice.

Met a tobacco farmer who spoke a bit of German – had a cousin in the ex-DDR so he knew a few phrases and was able to explain us the details of tobacco growth as well as sell us 12 of his own cigars.

Walked back to Vinales and had drinks in the afternoon. More rum. It’s supposed to be good for you. Frederik arrived in the evening on the bus and we had dinner with him and found a nice place for him to stay – Golums mom J Had more drinks and beers at the local place before going to bed.
