Had a nice slow morning. Shared a room with a belgian guy who'd just been to Antarctica for a week or two so we had the full story about how it was down there, including how you get in trouble if you moon the National Geographic cruise ship from your own boat. Appearently one of those things you don't do one the high seas.
Walked to the pickup for our trip in the afternoon and did the 85 kilometer drive in a little more than 1½ hours. Arrived at the Estancia Haberton - at the end of the world - and boarded the boat for a short sailing trip to the penguin island.
Spent a little more than an hour with the penguins. They did everything they could to entertain us making lots of noise, chasing each other, swimming along the coast and generally just behaving like the funny creatures they are.
Returned to the Estancia in the late afternoon, had a cup of hot chocolate. Walked a bit around and enjoyeed the cold but sunny weather wondering how it must have been to live there a hundred years ago when it was the end of the world.
Returned to Ushuaia and enjoyed the afternoon and evening.
