Cienfuegos walkabout

Small trip planned for today. Taxi to Cienfuegos to see what a big Cuban city looks like. Only a short ride and we were dropped off in the middle of town ready to go sightseeing. It turned out that we arrived on the yearly book-festival day where the government hands out free books so there were so many people in the streets and different entertainment. Among other things and large group of kids dressed as bees singing and dancing on a stage.

We enjoyed a few hours of walking around town, the central plaza, the beautiful theatre and ended up at the end of the peninsula where large houses surrounded a small park. Ordered some sandwiches and realised that we found the low-point of cheese and ham in Cuba.

Found a taxi that could take us back to the beach – Frederik went directly to the beach when we got back to Rancho Luna. Malene and I had lunch at the restaurant. Didn’t really eat the sandwiched in Cienfuegos.
When we joined Frederik at the beach he had attracted a couple of young Cuban girls. But they left as soon as we got there. That’s when we named the beach “Pimp-playa” and started talking about when to leave the nice but very quiet place.

Enjoyed the sunset like yesterday with a few beers and a few drinks before heading home for dinner. And then we walked to the hotel for a couple of beers.
