On our way to Fidel, leg #1

Woke up with a bit of a hangover. But now it is more routine that we are in that mood when we're going somewhere. Went to the city centre - Avenida Florida - to walk the pedestrian street and shop a little bit more. Weather was perfect - so was our hangovers. We enjoyed the city one last time in the sunshine before heading back to Palermo, our hostel and some nice empanadas for lunch. 

Left the hostel in the afternoon for the airport for the flight to Santiago where we will be spending the night. Took more than an hour to drive to the airport. The traffic was really ok - this was just a last reminder to us about how big this country is.

Arrived in Santiago, got through the usual customs and migration circus in no time, had our luggage and walked across the street to the airport hotel. Nice Holiday Inn. Would have preferred something local but since it was only one night we made the decision solely on the basis of location. So nice to be able to wake up in the morning and not have to think about transfer to the airport. Just a two minute walk.

Dinner at the hotel before we went to the room, filled up the bathtub with hot water and enjoyed the comfort of a real hotel room. Nice every now and then.
