Woke up and had breakfast at the hostel. Handed in dirty clothes for laundry before getting ready for a day hike to Laguna Torre. 6 hours return to the glaciers from Fitz Roy. Left at 10:30 and headed for the track which was supposed to be "flat" and easy according to the guy at the hostel. Walked uphill for about ½ hour. Not our idea of "flat" but looking at the surrounding mountains maybe this was supposed to be considered flat. Enjoyed the stunning landscape, the quietness and the nature in general, every now and then catching a glimpse of the peaks. Covered in snow, a bit of clouds and sunshine.
Made it all the way to the laguna and had lunch while looking at the peaks surrounding the lake. Not the everyday lunch experience. Took a short walk at the edge of the water before heading back for town. Walk back was equally good but the weather started to get a bit more rough with wind and clouds building up. Got back to the hostel and while Malene was proof-reading her job applications I took an afternoon nap.
Left the hostel for dinner - and more importantly to find some internet. Malene managed to send one application, I managed to order some flowers for my dads birthday tomorrow. Internet sooo slow. Had dinner at the brew-restaurant with beer, good food, a glass of red wine and dessert. Good ice cream and apple crumble and brownie. And an Irish coffee. So hard to be back packer. People still coming in for beer and food when we left at 00:30. It's going to be a quiet day tomorrow....
