Woke up in Gisborne to the first season of the day - rain. Later it became a bit windy and then the sun came through the clouds. 3 seasons in one morning, as always. Had a bit of breakfast, went to the supermarket to pick up groceries - then to the pharmacy, coffee place, gas station. Then we and the car were ready to head to Tikitiki - a bit out in nowhere.
Beautiful drive up the coast, a few stops here and there enjoying the scenery and the fact that it wasn't raining all the time. Arrived at the backpackers place in the afternoon during a rainshower and helped getting the fire lit in the stowe to heat up the living room. Later the weather improved a bit and we had a short walk up the hill before we made dinner.
Risengrød - sharing a bottle of late harvest from Mission estate. Perfect combination for a nice but chilly summer evening - a Monday in January.
Going early to bed to get up and see the sunrise - the first place on earth in the morning.
