Woke up 5:35 in the morning and did a little walk/climb to the top of the hill right next to the backpackers where are staying. Windy morning, perfect view, at lot of clouds but enough blue sky to be able to see the sun rise out of the ocean. As the first persons on the planet.

Went back to our room and stayed in bed a little more before getting up for a small breakfast and then for some horseback riding. 3 hours on the horses - to the beach, the hills and around the place. Nice guide. Local guy with a good sense of humour. Weather like autumn - windy, clouds and not too warm. Good for horsebackriding but not for staying.
Came back to backpackers place and decided to leave after a shower. Heading up the coast for a little more civilisation - Whatakane. Small, narrow roads so it took a while to get there. Checked in at the backpackers and realised that the beach was some 10 minutes away by car. We went there in the evening sunshine and had a swim. So good after a long drive. Picked up some cold beers on our way back and enjoyed the rest of the evening in the garden. Nice way to end the day.
