Welcome to Sri Lanka

Left early in the morning for Galle - picked up by taxi and then on train for 3 hours. Two second class tickets - 180 rupies - DKK 9 per person. DSB could learn from that.

Had an interesting talk with local "tourist guide" on Colombo station who wanted us to go north instead of south - bad weather south he said. Much more interesting in the north. We stuck to our route and enjoyed sunshine all the way to Galle and in Galle the entire afternoon and evening including beautiful sunset.
Met german couple on our own age on the station when we arrived - "Zey are all vampirez" - refering to the locals. Appearently they had had a bad experience. We took a tuk to the place we wanted to stay for the evening - 10 minutes of driving = 100 rupies - DKK 5 - not really vampire prices but it can change of course.

Very nice place to stay - staying in the house of a family in big room with big bed, bathroom and everything. Left our stuff in the room and took a walk around the fort, to the lighthouse before finding a nice place to have dinner. Rooftop restaurant with nice temperature and a big curry for dinner. Perfect.
