Hiking Byron Bay

Today it is. We have to do something else than just relaxing. Even though our room mate - Emma - came back from her 3 hour morning kayak trip before we had breakfast we are determined to have a walk. To the lighthouse. Walked a bit out of town before we had to run for shelter because it started to rain like crazy. So instead of walking we waited and waited below a tree that kept us from being soaked in never ending rain. So we reflected a bit on our trip so far. Not much to change or regret so far. Mostly the opposite apart from a few details.

Finally the rain stopped and we spent the better part of 2 hours walking on the path to the lighthouse passing Australias eastern most point on the way (bonus). Made it to the top before another shower hit us. By then we had got a nice warm cup of coffee and were in the cafe. Was told by the barista that is was the wettest summer since 1970. We believed her.

Walked back towards Byron bay just taking a stroll on the beaches and a quick swim. Nearly made it home before we were hit by the last afternoon shower. Went to supermarket for some lunch and dinner shopping. Cooking with Anke and Emma and Malene tonight. No bar or drinks this evening. Sort of. :-) Great dinner with Kangaroo, pasta-al-spinach, Parmesan and tomato sauce. Call that fusion or what?
