Fraser Island

Got picked up by oversized MAN truck at 7 in the morning for our trip to Fraser Island - on a rainy, rainy day. Seemed more like autumn than summer to us. Clouds, windy, scattered showers. Not the kind of weather we needed for this trip.

Funny truck driver - so he thought. Mark - was midaged and full of bad jokes. Short drive to ferry to take us a short distance to Fraser - and then we raced the beach all morning. Stopped for a walk at the old wreck, a swim/walk at the creek, colored dunes before we went for lunch.

After lunch of to Lake Mckinsey. Swim in lake Mckinsey was good - even though there were a few clouds. Last stop was a walk in the rain forest. We have been to rain forest so many times that we didn't really care about this walk. But it is always facinating to see these places. Fraser Island not being an exception.
Very bumpy ride back to the ferry and back at the hostel around 5-ish. A good day trip but the weather could have been better.
